Hey guys I am 23 and did anabolic steroids for 3 months a year back. I had a near perfect hairline before and the steroids cut it back.

Here is me at 21.https://www.dropbox.com/s/xhtt3h99rf7atrw/.facebook_1435275429919.jpg?dl=0

I am on finasteride now to prevent anything further from happening.

What Norwood am I?

My grandfather on my father's side has a perfect head of hair. My grandfather on my mother's side has a Norwood 2.

My father has a Norwood 2 and my great uncles all have Norwood 2 roughly on mom and dad's side.

The steroids quickly destroyed my hair. I thought I would never lose it. If I did not take them my hairline would have been perfect for many more years before the recession occurred. A word of caution. Use Propecia if on Anabolics!

Any thoughts and or opinions would be appreciated!

It may have not been the steroids but if you notice some hair loss around that period there's a possibility. It does happen with anabolic steroids. It's hard to see really when people pull their hair up... To find you truly you need to shave your head or see a proper dermatologist so he can check. It looks like you have a mature hairline from the picture.

You hair looks fine no real issue i would worry too much about. Just monitor the crown, hariline, temples...etc... I noticed a slight recession for me at 25 years old.

I've gone the natural route. I've changed my diet and i have definitely thickened the hair on my hairline. I take Zinc Max, Vitamin B6, Iron, Omega 3 Fish Oil, and Biotin every day and the three month period where hair grows it looked noticeably thicker and felt noticeably thicker.

I mean you could continue taking Finasteride to see the difference and every so often you may see noticeable improvement. No denying that it works for sure. I'm just apprehensive due to the side effects which may creep upon me.

If you can perhaps change your diet it will definitely contribute and by making sure you aren't getting overdosed by certain vitamins,...etc.. too.

I also used an all natural shampoo and skipped a day after i washed my hair with it. And then i'd use a shampoo conditioner with tea tree and perhaps on occasion let me hair soak in peppermint on periods to reinvograte the scalp.

Either way if you manage it properly you should be fine. It can be hard work, though.

I mean even a low dose of pumpkin seed oil would've helped if you wren't on finasteride. Zinc and Vitamin B6 seemed like a match made in heaven for my hair. Either way the pumpkin seed oil would be ineffective due to you being on Finasteride anyway so if you are seeing progress just stick to it.

I aslo made sure when i dried my hair to dry it slowly and then let it dry naturally. I also cut out any normal shampoos with laurel sulphate. I also drank moderate amounts of water and i even still drank caffeine.

spironolactone does help a friend of mine was on it and there's visible improvement. But i guess it varies from person to person.

I also never styled my hair. I'd just let it sit and just comb it evenly so there's no really pressure but that shouldn't make too much difference. CKVwzjb.jpg

I also used a small amount of Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Almond Oil mixture on my hairline for a period of time. Which seemed to have helped be it at a slow pace. I avoided Coconut Oil as i had a bad experience with it. Perhaps i used a little too much at the time but i also heard that can help.
