Hey guys im a 22 year old male and just recently maybe a year ago noticed my hair loss. As of now i just been taking vitamins (biotin, msm, amd a multi) which havent done much. Also i started using nizoral and a regular conditioner to try and streghten my hair. But all this seems to have no effect. Anyways i went to the dermatoligist and he reccomended me try rogaine before i went on propecia. Problem is that i still have a good amount of hair you can tell its thinning on top when i get out of the shower. But from what i heard rogaine kills all your healthy hair and replaces them with "rogaine hair' which does not look natural and is lighter hair that resembles peach fuzz. Is this true and if thats the case would rogaine make me loose all my natural hair and make me look like im going balder faster? And i would probally be better off not using it? Please anyone that has any experencie with this show me the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you

The only thing you tried that should help is the nizoral. your derm is incompetant for recommending rogaine without propecia. Rogaine does not stop you from balding. It just ups your hair count by 120 or so per circular inch, which continues to thin after that, and droops 120 again if you stop. Only propecia or dutasteride will stop the balding process. Use rogaine if you have a lot of regrowing to do, or if propecia does not regrow enough.

folligen is another easy, cheap addition to your regimen.

and get generic minoxidil and proscar, not rogaine and propecia. use a pill cutter. get the 1% nizoral, not the 2%.

Thanks for the info very helpful, as far as the rogaine you said it should up my hair count, but as i posted orginaly is that new hair like my orginal natural hair or is it some unnatural looking rogaine hair. And is my natural orginal hair remain in tact once i start with the rogaine? Thank you again

what an idiot!!! minoxidil is sh--!!!!!!! go on finasteride (propecia, proscar, finxcar....) ASAP!!!! never go back to that doctor again, he (like most derms) knows nothing about male pattern baldness!!!

Hey im still curious of the type of hair i will regrow with rogaine? Is it going to be natural and blend in with the rest of my hair? Or will the rogaine kill my natural hair and replace it with "rogaine dependent hair" which looks more like peach fuzz and not as thick and healthy as my natural hair?

haha funny how you've asked that question 3 times and no one has answered it yet..

but anyways.

.I havent used Rogaine but im pretty sure your existing hair that you have will look the same or thicken up. I think in a severely thinned spot the hairs start out as weak peachfuzz looking hairs maybe thats what you're thinking of?

minoxidil will do nothing to stop or slow your hair loss without finasteride or dutasteride!!

Ill go one step farther and say you have 1 choice. Alter your hormones with propecia or go bald. Theres not much else going on in about 5 years there will be safer DHT inhibitors.

Yeah only reason im really considering rogaine is because im more afraid of the side effects of propecia ex: sexual side effects and the breast enlargement deff doesnt sound to appealing to me, and i was willing to give rogaine a shot if it didnt hurt me more than it helped? And i say this because i read that some that wasnt balding that badly lost more hair on rogaine? Tough choice i got here
