Im 22 and every guy in my family is bald, about a Norwood 4 or 5 I think, so its only a matter of time before it starts happening. My hairline looks like it might be thinning a bit but the top of my head is full with no signs of baldness or thinning aside from my cowlick. Not sure if this is just a mature hairline or signs of balding. So im wondering is what Norwood am I at and if it does look like balding should I start finasteride now to reduce the damage that will happen over the next few years. I'll post some pics below. I have medium lengthed hair so you cant even notice my hairline that much unless I push my hair up.

Yea your balding. Your hairs bit like mine. With meds you should be able to hold on to your hair for good while yet.

definite male pattern baldness... Try finasteride, it will probably be alright. People slander it too much for no reason

Ps. If you get on the big 3 right now you can probably go back to an NW1, just an after thought.

But you might choose either between minoxidil or finasteride in the long run... Personally you can also give Ru a go but that is overpriced and might only work as a catalyst alongside a proper 5a-alpha reductase blocker

I was planning on using finasteride, didnt want to use minoxidil just yet since I hear that causes your hair to shed a lot.

Yep, I agree. Don't use minoxidil, it's not actually saving your hair... Whereas finasteride is literally blocking the dht from dimishing your follicle growth

Norwood 1.5 - NW2. Good news is you caught it early, get on finasteride
