21M I Just bought Finasteride 1MG,i am looking forward for the results...

What should be my expectations,given the state of my hair? I AM a diffuse thinner with natural thin hair and some recession. This IS the First time i AM getting into a treatment and i wont use minoxidil

You should be able to maintain it all and maybe regrow some hair as long as you respond to the treatment which is good because pretty much every non balding person wouldn't know that you have hair loss, even people on this forum don't think you're losing hair.

I agree with Jpw1999. Very early stages. Don't expect to see regrowth or an increase of density on finasteride alone, although it is possible for some people, usually after six months or more. Consider starting with a lower dosage and titrating upwards if you're worried about a possible nocebo effect or side effects.

Should i start with 0.5MG a day? I suffer from heavy anxiety and insomnia. I really wanted to start at the regular dose 1MG a day but i don't know.

Considering that you have anxiety I'd go with 0.5 because you might get nocebo side effects, don't read / think about sides and you probably won't get them.

I'd take 0.5 daily if I was you, I don't really trust this dosing because finasteride has a short half life

I did .25mg a day. I didn't want to go on and off the drug.

I moved up to .5mg after a week then after 1 month moved to 1mg. Been on 1mg for 3 days.

I did 1 mg thrice a week for two or three months, then moved on to 1 mg five times a week (Monday to Friday). Have been almost three months on this new dosage, and no problems thus far. Some users believe that it could play too much with your hormones or be slightly less effective but I trusted the theory of these doctors that scalp 5-alpha-reductase 2 is inhibited for a longer period than serum 5-alpha-reductase 2 and takes longer to resynthesize in the scalp too.

Start at 1mg a day then if you get sides cut pills in half. If you still get sides cut them to .25mg. If you still have sides then you really have not much options. Maybe try .25 eod if it works but if you still get sides then you probably should stop.

This sounds like the best option, I don't know why people are so scared of sides, they're so rare. Personally the thought of going bald was 10x more scary than side effects that will go away after stopping the drug.

This guy called Somebody Alex has been taking propecia 0.5 daily for over a decade and he was able to grow back a nw1 so 0.5 can still he as effective as 1mg. I started with 1mg just becuase I wanted to be safe and take the recommended dose.

My plan is to go on 1mg a day and if I regrow the 2 cm^2 on my left temple then I'm dropping to .5mg for maintaining it. Right temple is like 1 cm^2 and just thin and not as noticeable. And yes, balding is 100 x worse than everything except pfs which is very rare.

Sounds like we have similar hair loss, it's only my left temple that has slightly receded and my right temple is still nw1 ish just a little thin, if I didn't have thinning I wouldn't have even noticed the recession

If that's what you want to do, you should do it, it's gonna be a lot cheaper using that dosage, if you keep losing ground bump up the dosage or take 0.5 daily.
