How can you reduce something by 350% ?
If you reduce something by 100%, it doesn't exist anymore. Maybe I am missing something.
It is actually 3.5 times less than the average value . If the normal value was they have 28.5 . Almost 1/4 of what they should to have.

So op, you're still eating dutasteride like candy? After knowing all this? This risk is still worth the reward for you?

Know, if you even care to read the post you will answer your question by your own.
Why so many people don't like to read ? to google ? Internet is more than pornography and attacks others

Too bad there are no topicals nearly as effective as oral finasteride, and the topicals that do show promise go systemic anyways. If you forego oral finasteride in favor of a topical route, your topical route may soon be a hair piece.

At least they make hair pieces, can't buy a dick piece.

Right now I am using topical spironolactone, minoxidil, ketoconazole, alfaestradiol and only 2 times per week on cap of Avodart.
Wait...wtf you're still on all this sh*t after you're complaining of getting sides? Are you nuts....? And saying its crazy to use finasteride lol....I would drop all my treatments in a heartbeat if I was having the problems you are.

Clearly hair is much more important to you than your health.

Dude, if you don't read what is the reason on answer you ?

Thinks many people find it really interesting, only will answer that. Other just garbaging the post will be report it. A good post filled with garbage is bad for the site, cause it became impossible to read it, I bet the moderator will delete the post and banned the users.

I don't know about that

I took spironolactone orally for two weeks and it seriously messed up my period--i did not get it for 3 months after i stopped because spironolactone messed my hormones so bad.

I started to use topical spironolactone last September it never gave me side effects the oral did.
Been on it non stop.

Recently added topical finasteride to the my daily routine in addition to the spironolactone...no side effects so far.

Yes, same than me. Spiron oral soon gave me side effect but not topical . Did you use spironolactone 3 month as topical without stop as only treatment ( before you added the finasteride topical ) ? Did you think it was benefit for your hairloss on that 3 month ? did you noted any different ? like balding areas not increasing, etc ?
thanks

Just to give you a time line of my treatment.

I used topical spironolactone with estrodial (the weaker one) starting Sept '16,
Hair shed slowed down a lot within few weeks.

I added topical minoxidil 5% 1x a day close to Nov 16
By February '17 I had some decent regrowth. (I compared pics of September to February and decent enough difference)

Around end of May or June 17 I started shedding all little short hairs (I have very long hair past shoulders)
I had lost some of the ground I had gained by July (did pic comparison)

I talked to my Dr if any harm using topical finasteride in addition to the topical spironolactone I was using since I am not going to have kids--he said I can go for it.

I stopped shedding 2-4 weeks in after adding finasteride 0.5%.
I at the very least gained back the ground I had lost and I think some additional regrowth (going to take pics in September to compare).

So to answer your questions
yes I used spironolactone almost a year before adding finasteride, but I added minoxidil after 6 weeks of starting spironolactone which is when I had noticed the shed noticeably slowed down.

I think spironolactone had some benefit--still does but I think the combination of the two really has helped (I may not need the spironolactone but scared to stop it for now).

I am a woman so i don't have real bald spots--I have/had the christmas tree part--that part thickened up..it's far from perfect in front center--still noticeable if I part it center--but its greatly improved from baseline.

I have not had any DHT testing recently but I may next time I am at the Gynecologist just to see if the finasteride goes systemic.
Although I know a study is coming out in early 2018 about topical finasteride dosage vs systemic so hopefully it will have answers for the men here.

For me IF the finasteride is going systemic it is not causing any sides that I can tell so far.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your answer . You might also wanted to check DHEA levels that is the maim androgen on women , this is why males respond better to finasteride . Luckily, topical spironolactone also will block the androgen receptor for DHEA :)

dutasteride is far more effective in trial at the dose of 2.5 mg .
but not that much with 0.5 mg

But why? 0.5m is supposed to reduce 95% DHT, it can't get any lower.

I tried topical spironolactone that they made for me on a pharmacy for a while on the weekends... did sh*t nothing noticeable, other than making my hair smell funny.

Also about dutasteride vs finasteride.. I remember reading somewhere a theory of dutasteride actually being safer than finasteride when it comes to permanent side effect due its higher molecular weight making it unable to cross the blood brain barrier whereas finasteride would cross it and cause the famous permanent side effects... so something to consider.

HAIR IS HEALTH

so you either do nothing, be unhealthy due hairloss depression
do something, but get sides due treatments
or do something but treatments does nothing

Yeah feel like I am in the last group, and I agree to an extent, but wouldn't sacrifice my dick or testosterone for hair. Can also do treatments, get results, and get no sides.

If the pharmacyst is smart enought
