New to this, but been thinking of starting for a while. Considering beginning with Nizoral and finasteride till I see if it makes a noticeable difference. Reckon I am approaching the NW2 range since starting hairloss around 17/18. Temple loss and unsure whether I am starting to get some crown thinning. Tend to get the itch and higher dry scalp around the areas with the shrinking hairs. Added some pics. Would be great to get some tips regarding how to approach the hairloss and if I am likely to be successful. My objective is to retain this hair and perhaps grow the smaller hairs on the hairline back to normal for 10-15 years. Is this likely?

Hey man,

I'm currently more receded than you - about a norwood 3 at 20 years old. I started finasteride 7 months ago and since then the dreadful itch where my receding hairline is has subsided by about 90%. Before starting finasteride I would be constantly thinking about the itch as it was a grim reminder that I was losing ground. I havn't really seen any regrowth and I think my hair is roughly the same as it was 7 months ago - but on the bright side my hair hasn't got any worse yet!

I am optimistic to hopefully regrow a couple centermetres on the hairline but for most of us, maintaining is the main goal of finasteride.

I found nizoral to help with the itch, I use it 1-3 times a week depending on my schedule and how itchy my hairline is etc.

Get on finasteride ASAP, it's not so great at regrowing but it's usually effective at slowing down hairloss significantly (maintaining)

I'm from the UK too, shoot me a PM if you want to know how to get finasteride easily and cheap in the UK if you havn't got it already (not a shill, genuinely wanting to help)
