Hi there

I'm only 21 but have been receding since maybe 16, things got quite bad at about 18 and I jumped on Finasteride 6 months ago (21 now) just looking for some advice as basically before I started Finasteride the balding was slow I mean I couldn't tell day to day a difference but knew I was slowly receding my crown and everywhere else was still thick now my hair is just falling out like crazy and is so weak and easy to pull out?

Is it possible it has caused Telogen Effluvium? If so what should I do? When I first started finasteride I didn't notice a shed at all until around the 3rd month now it's just so weak and thin

thanks

I'm in the same boat man. finasteride seems to have accelerated things maybe. Probably not but who knows. I've been on it for 9 months and in the past 1-2 months I hit nw3. My hair is also easily pulled out. I know exactly what you mean about that

I don't know about you but every guy on my dads side is slick bald. I think the genes might just be too bad for it to help. Who knows, we could be balding faster if it wasn't for the finasteride.

Unfortunately this bullshit happens to some of us, including myself. I've continue with finasteride now for 18 months and still losing ground. Considering taking up dutasteride soon.

I'd suggest you wait it out for 1 year before dropping it and/or moving on to something else. Take pictures regularly so you can look back and compare. For some the shedding never stops, but they make gains despite it.
