21, diffuse thinning wonderin what tests can be run

I have another dermatologist apptment in 2 days for a second opinion on my hair loss. I had a fungus about 6 months ago and ran lamisil to correct it. the hair loss never stopped however, and recently got a 2nd biopsy which just showed less terminal hair follicles. Im just wonderin what tests can i have this DR. run to confirm that this is male pattern baldness. I have extensive dandruff/scaling and i lost about half my hair in just a 8 month period. I am havin a tough time believing this as noone in my family is bald. Just wondering if a microscopic analysis of the hair or any other blood tests would be relevant to find out why i lost so much with no regrowth. This cannot be natural hair loss. Thanks
