20 Year Old Hair Loss - Do I Need Propecia?

Hello! I'm 20 years old, and for probably 2 years i have been noticing a quickly receding hairline and strong thinning in my scalp. I used to have very thick hair, and got comments about it all the time, but now i get comments about the hair thinning, which depresses me a lot.
I've been using hairloss and thickening shampoos such as Nioxin, but not with much success. Yesterday i went to see a dermatologist for the first time, and she prescribed me some Clobex shampoo, which i haven't heard of being prescribed for male pattern baldness, but only for conditions such as Propecia Areata. (And it's pretty expensive)

I asked her about Propecia which she thought was too soon. The problem is that I worry about this soo much every day, and am really depressed about it since i care much about my hair/looks and don't want to go bald as a 22 year old or so. I do not think that this Clobex shampoo is any 'strong' solution to the problem. She wants me to use it for the next 3 months, and then do a check up. But i do not want to delay getting into proper treatment any longer, especially since i've lost so much in a matter of 1-2 years.

I have been considering hopping onto finasteride using the 5mg and splitting to quarters, and then maybe later hopping on Minoxidil 5% as well.

What are your thoughts?

The three photos taken on the bathroom are today, the others are from me as a 17-year old.

bro don't listen to your dermtaologist , they are really incompetent . unfortunately you have some serious thinning going on . Jump on propecia as soon as possible . And keep us updated .

your plan; take propecia for 6 month and if you are not satisfy add minoxidil .
But don't waste 3 month , each month count .

dermatologists are useless when it comes to hair loss.

Always see a hair transplant surgeon who can thoroughly check your scalp under magnification for a bulk, and miniaturization test.

take your meds like a good boy
