2 months into Finasteride

Hi all !

I am soon to be 23 next month and I think ive been loosing hair since the age of 17. My hair loss has been slow but constant. I buzzed my head for years because I liked how it looked but now I'm trying to grow it back once more. Last night I was looking in the mirror and saw a bald spot on top of my head which wasn't there before I started propecia, or at least was not as prominent. I always had a receded hairline but the bald spot took me by surprise...

Anyway I've been on Finasteride for 2 months now (without any side effects) , just switched to Proscar cut in 1/4. I will use it for a year and If not satisfied with the results I will probably start using Minoxidil.

Can you guys tell me where I stand on the Norwood scale ? Is it 2 , 2.5 or early 3 ?

Also, I read some other thread that Finasteride might make your hair worst before it gets better ?

PS : the pictures with the buzzcut are from last summer. Also I guess I will use this thread to record the progress I make while on Finasteride !

you are nw2 and finasteride usually will speed up your hair loss for the first 3 months. People who in the end have had excellent results have said their hair was worse than ever at around month 5. Most peoples initial shedding does not last that long though

hey thanks for the reply ! hopefully I can keep my NW2 for a long time or if i'm lucky revert it to 1.5 Who knows.
