Hi !
Well tomorrow it will be one year I started to use minoxidil + nizoral. Two months later I started to cut proscar into four pieces.
I cant be sure which part of this combo works (possibly all 3 together) but the results are just great!! To tell the truth I did not expect that these drugs could be so effective year ago.
I was really considering hair transplant at the time but found this site and decided to try drugs first.
I started to lose hair at age 19-20. I am 27 now. At age 23 male pattern baldness started to be very visible and I shaved my head. During this time from age 23-27 I have stopped shaving two times to check the hair situation on my head. It was terrible. Slick hairless areas on temples, midscalp and crown made me looking like 50years old man.
Now I am in the same situation as abouth 5years ago before I shaved my head. I would describe this as big success and I expect more hair in near future!!
I saw the first more significant results in December 03, after 7months on minoxidil and 5 months on finasteride. Existing hair got thicker, some vellus hair got darker. Also I saw some new vellus hair. This made quite significant but for me still not accetable cosmetic effect reported also by my doctor.
I the beginning of 2004 big shedding started and my situation turner back to basic situation without hair. But I continued with big 3. As I remember in the end of March 04 I noticed that shedding stopped.But still no cosmetical effect. It is really strange. One day you shed tons of hair and another you do only 5-7 (just according to my hair which left on my hands after rubbing the minoxidil).
Last two months my situation improoved dramatically. Finally I am regrowing hair also on my crown. Hair is thicker , really dark and I think that it will be cosmetically accetable for me soon.
Last weekend I started to shed again like crazy but this shedding did not still influence good look of my contemporary hair. I am ready for looking bad again but I believe that these lost hairs will be replaced by thicker and healthier hairs after some time as per last. I also hope that these shedding cycles will be longer and longer in some time and that I will enjoy good hair longer than for few weeks as per last.
I had been bald for 5 or 6 years so there is no need to hurry. I am just happy to know I am on good way!!
I think that these are the good news for every guy with such aggresive type of hairloss I have.
