Hello,

I am currently in the process of ordering my first Hair System and my biggest concern would be to select the appropriate system and type of bond for a very active person.

I play hockey 3/4 times a week (involving wearing an helmet and lots of body heat and sweating) and also work out on a daily basis.
I would like to have some guidance on the type of system would better fit my active lifestyle while still looking natural.

I though about a french lace system with poly (except front) using clear bond in case body heat and sweating would make the glue linking (less visible than white bond I guess...).
Should I consider tape bond?

I have contacted Hairpiece Warehouse for a custom system and my next step is to create and send them my template.

Am I on the right path?

Any advice will ne much appreciated!

Gabe

French lace with a poly horseshoe rim seems like a good choice for a very active guy. I would suggest using tape for the back and sides of the piece (the bit where you have a poly rim). Glue gives the best result for the hairline, but you have to avoid heavy sweating or contact with water for at least 4 hours after you attach (ideally 24 hours) otherwise the glue can turn white, so you will need to work your exercise schedule around that.

If you have problems with glue, you can also try Walkers 3-mil tape for the hairline, which is also pretty undetectable, and gives a good reliable hold.

One other thing you could think of if you are ordering a custom system is to order a poly or skin patch parallel to the hairline, but three-quarters of an inch back from the edge. Then you can put a piece of tape there, to take the pressure off the hairline glue.

Thanks Noah for your advice, it's greatly appreciated.
Just wanted to know when you specified a poly paralele to the frontline but 3/4 of an inch back from the edge, were you suggesting to tape the poly and use glue for the 3/4 lace remaining?
