Hi
I've been reading tons of posts over the last weeks and i've decided i'll get into finasteride to stop my receding hairline. Im 19 years old and im pratically NW2 already. My father got completly bald at his early 40s.

I just have a few questions...

After i start taking it, are the chances of me getting gyno high? What are the consequences of the rise of testerone and estrogen? Is there anything i can do to lower the excess of estrogen and therefore lower the chances of getting gyno?

Also, what would you take along with the finasteride besides nizoral? maybe spino or proxiphen?

Thanks a lot for the info you all provided me these last weeks!

Hello ipor,

the chances of you getting gyno are very low.

In your situation I recommend only finasteride + Nizoral. Maybe these two are doing already an excellent job in maintaining your hair and maybe give you some regrowth. If you add further treatments such as minoxidil or spironolactone you won´t know which part of your regimen actually gives you results and which one doesn´t.

You could add some dietary supplements though (Multivitamines, Green Tea Extract, Zinc,.....) just to make sure you aren´t missing anything. But Finasteride + Nizoral should be enough for you at the moment. Good Luck!

I think some people just don't develop full facial hair, ever...but I'm curious to know this, too, as I have the patchiest, scraggliest facial hair in the world and my dad's sure is thick.

how old are you?

my dad has super thick facial growth as well. when he doesn't shave for two days, wow. i, on the other hand, can not shave for a week and still not have much on my face at age 22. i suspect that by age 30 i will be like him.

were u like that before u started dutasteride? i had to shave every day before finasteride, and now i do it twice a week. i think DHT might contribute to facial hair growth.

yep i was like that before starting dutasteride. i mean same amount as before starting, and i don't mean to exaggerate. it's not like i can grow no facial hair, can grow a fair amount in two weeks, it's just that i think i'm incapable of growing a full thick beard. that may change in a few years.
