Hi, everyone. I’m an 18 year old pre-transition trans woman (basically a full biological male rn), I’ve been a bit paranoid as to whether or not I’ve been losing my hair the last few weeks. Here’s a gallery of my crown and various photos of my hair down and tied in a bun:

My hair was basically like yours in my early 20s. I'm 44 now and only in the last few years have I had noticable hair loss.

At your age it's tough to say what will happen but I'm pretty sure you'll be fine for at least another ten years. Just keep an eye on things, take pics and KEEP them on your phone for YEARS so you can compare in 5 and 10 years.

When you're 30 you may want to try finasteride or some other treatment. I think you're good for now though.

I have no clue what happens with trans people, what type of hormones they give you, etc. But I'd still take and save pics.

Thanks. I really needed an outside opinion. When I start medical transition, I will likely be taking spironolactone and estradiol, which both should reduce DHT levels to nil. I just need to ride this sh*t out for another year and I’m sorta home free.

I don't know much about that stuff except that it's powerful, so unless you are just extremely unlucky, balding isn't something you need to worry about. Good luck to you.
