18 male pattern baldness

Default 18 years old male pattern baldness ?!
I'm 18 and I think I might be going bald which really sucks !! I have posted to a couple of other forums and was told that my hair looked fine I'm just not convinced ! I just want to see the opinion of forums.

Little bit of family history :

Both my grandfathers were not bald,

My dad was bald but his brother isn't and all three of my mums brothers are bald !! It doesn't look good.



If I am going bald what are my options ? And what NE would you say I am ?

Not balding in my opinion, but - if you are unsure - a trichologist could make a trichogram to assess how much hair is in the telogen phase, for your peace of mind.

In my opinion,the very slightest of recession on your hairline,options?well there is finasteride and minoxidil,maybe use minoxidil for a year and see how you are then,im 18 also and my hairline is way worse and im on both finasteride and minoxidil,id say dont go near finasteride yet anyways as your hairline isnt that bad at all but in a few years it may get worse.

You're just 18. How was your hairline when you were 16, 17? Did you always have a curved hairline? I mean my male pattern baldness was very aggressive and pre-male pattern baldness I had a deadstraight hairline.

You have corner recession, but it does not seem to be thinning. Hard to say, and if I were you I wouldn't go on minoxidil anyway. Applying it twice every day may be very inconvenient and its response rate isn't very high at all.

First line of defence should be finasteride if you want to do anything (in the future).

For now, I don't see thinning or deterioration of your hair quality and thus no male pattern baldness, yet.
