17 yo, don't know what to do, need advice.

I'm 17 years old, 18 in August, and for 1 year I've had phases where I worry that I'm receding. They usually last for a few months, then I'd forget about it but then I would suddenly start worrying about it again. Anyway, 1 year later and I'm sure I'm still receding. My moms father started balding maybe early 50s, he is the only balding make on my mothers side. On my fathers side, my uncle who is early 40s is pretty much bald, but again he is the only male bald on my fathers side. I went to my GP last year but he took a half arsed look at my hair and didn't say anything helpful. So basically , I really don't know what to do, should I ask my mom to take me to another GP, even then I doubt he'd prescribe me finasteride at my age. I know I'd be better seeing a derm, but the reality is there is none where I live, I live on a small island, so my GP is the best I have.

Looks like you're starting to recede to me.

Gotta do your research. You're young. Talk to a doctor/dermatologist.

finasteride and minoxidil are really the only things out there. You might be too young for finasteride.

Could just be a mature hairline but go see your G.P & and Dermatologist as someone has said.

Yo! I started to receding like you at the same age! View my Succes topic. Im currently 9 months on minoxidil, and finasteride EOD from 7 days. Everything good!

I started to recede at 17 too so I feel for you. I didn't take any finasteride or minoxidil until 21.....really wish I had My recession definitely crept up during those 4 years. If you have access to finasteride now id go for it....
