So I'm 17, dad has the longest thickest hair of any 50 year old I've ever seen. His dad has a very slight receeded hairline, i'd say around a NW2 if that, with no thinning on the top. His mon (idk if it matters) also has a very full head of hair. My mom has a full head of hair, her dad has long hair and a NW0.5 hairline but slight thinning around the crown. Her mom also has a full head of hair. Her GRANDFATHERS were bald however (that's the only history I could narrow down).

I understand I have a lot more hair than some people on here, and I'm gonna get insulted, but when my hair was really short someone joked that they could see through my hair and I've been worried since.

The most concerning picture is the last one. That spot is NOT always visible. It's not a bald spot. I had product in my hair and messed it up on purpose to see. I'm only including it to see if it's possible to do that with good hair, or is that only something that could be done if it's thin.

Sorry to be that guy, but it does appear that you have some thinning along your lateral humps and very early miniaturization along your hairline. I don’t think that thin patch in the middle front is male pattern baldness, but if it is it would be indicative of a final pattern of NW4+

A simple way to maybe tell would be to do a 60 second comb test and see if any of the shed hairs are significantly smaller in diameter than the rest. If you shed more than 30 hairs I would go to a derm for a diagnosis. You can also pluck 1 (one) single hair from the very front of your hairline and compare it to one (1) single hair from your donor zone

Ignoring the early signs of male pattern baldness will lead to more anguish down the road, ask me how I know

Don’t we all have these shorter hairs on the front of our hairline. I think it’s normal unless they are thinner than the rest of your hair

My hairline was much like OPs, with thinner whispier hair on the front but still NW0. I still have them, they’re just vellus now

Yeah, they’re often referred to as “baby hairs” but it’s more common with chicks. The diameter of your frontal hairs may be smaller due to a maturation of the hairline but their length should not be any different unless they were deliberately cut shorter

Currently a 1.5 diffusing into a 5 or 6 with temple and crown accentuation. Density is absolutely fucked but I’m hoping that’s due to the minoxidil dread shed. Was fairly decent before starting

I've done multiple comb tests and each time I shed at most like 4 hairs, and they don't seem any thinner than my regular hairs. Same when I pull a hair or two out. Any other definitive diagnostic tests?

I've also always had the baby hairs on my hairline. Not trying to seem in denial, but that's just as fact. My stylist doesn't do line ups on the front of the hairline or the side, so that could be why they're still there. Also my hair is styled and those lines on my lateral humps are not visible when it's not styled. I'd love to hear more tho, you're the first person so say something that's not "your hair is perfect" so i'd love to hear other opinions

Lastly, are there any other photos I can post that could make anything clearer?
