Hi there I'm a 17 year old, I've been recently been worrying that I have mbp I just got my haircut really short because it's usually really thick.

My dad is a Norwood 7 and he's 52 and 1 of his brothers is completely bald where as the two other brothers have like a Norwood 4.

My moms dad isn't bald and none of my uncles on my moms side have hair loss.

That could be just your hairline maturing , especially if you say it's been cut really short. Keep an eye on it but don't obsess over it as you're too young to worry your years away !
Yeah I think My hairline always looked like that all my life.

Thanks for the reply :)

With that history it could be the start of male pattern baldness. Keep your pics and come back when your 18 and see if theres a noticeable difference. If for some reason you hair losses ground very quickly from this point try minoxidil but your hair looks like a nw1 with no hairloss right now.

Idk it looks like you're good. Just keep monitoring it but please don't obsess over it. Nobody would even know you had any problem.

@NoahArsenault23

you have mild thinning in general and mild retrograde alopecia on sides – but it is not sign of Androgenetic Alopecia so far

absence of baldness history on mother side means nothing – I personally do not have any by mother side but my father is NW7 baldcel and I got his genes and look subhuman now

you have a face that cannot pull off bald look so do not let youself going bald, keep looking so far you're doing OK

My dad's dad wasn't bald he had a full head of hair does that make a difference?

No. Doesn't matter at all genetically.

My dad's dad wasn't bald as well.

I know this is totally irrelevant and I'm sorry for that, but I noticed in your latest photo that you have a scar/indention on your head, or at least so it appears. I think I have an almost identical one. ha

Sorry just one more question.

The thinning I have is that just a normal mature hairline forming or am I beyond that?

My dad didn't really have a receading hairline when he went bald it just fell out in clumps.

Do you have crown thinning? If yes, it is male pattern baldness not "maturing".

I think it has started If I am being perfectly honest. I can already see the thinning occurring at the hairline which signifies your hairline is going to lose its form quickly. I have known a few guys with hair very similar to yours that went bald very fast after the age of 18, just something about the texture and varying thickness at the hairline makes it obvious. If you look closely you can tell that there are many thinner and shorter hairs populating the hairline which will soon dissapear.

I could be totally wrong ofc, in fact that is almost probable in the diagnosis of hairloss over the internet and can only really be known by a miniaturisation test, but just giving my 2 cents.
