Hello! I have made a post a while ago and until now, I seemed to finally stop the thinning in the front. It was most likely a vitamin deficiency, as I took vitamin supplements on a dermatologist prescription and the problem went away.

I have just restarted the treatment 1-2 weeks ago, when the first thinning signs appeared. Here I am about 12 months later after the dermatologist consultation, with another blow to my gut. I believe my temples have started to thin, reminiscent of my father's pattern. I don't know if it is just in my head or if it is truly male pattern baldness.

I have also found that before I shaved my head, the right temple seemed fuller than the left, but now, it seems to be the opposite. Nonetheless, they both have a lighter color than the middle, which only means bad news afaik.
Please, any opinions? Pics bellow

Got some pictures from when you were a little younger, let's say 15? What did the derm say did he search for signs of miniaturization? How is your family history, any baldies?

Derm said in mid 2019 that the left temple seemed to be thinner than the rest of the hair, and at the time prescribed me a vitamin supplement, but said that after 6 months, if it got any worse, she'd put me on minoxidil. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go for another consultation, and I won't for the foreseeable future (covid and stuff)

My dad has that thin island patch pattern, with receded hairline, his crown doesn't seem to be affected.

My maternal grandfather got that big forehead receding, but I never met him, I only saw one or two photos, so unsure about the crown.

My paternal grandfather (probably doesn't count lol) has a goddamn full head of hair, with slightly receded temples, at age 90, fml
Pics Bellow, Only I could find, mid 2018 so about 15 years old. Ofc I'm not the small kid, I'm the blurred face one :)

so hard to distinguish thinning hair from already fine hair. If you truly want to know I would book a consultation with a hair restoration clinic so they can take a look with a lens. Other than that you’re doing basically all you can right now. Hopefully it stays pretty consistent till your 19/20 for Finasteride.

Yes, @WaccWaccWacc is right, fine hair is problematic from this point of view. I personally just think you have a natural big forehead but it's hard to tell without a proper consultation. Book a consultation to a specialist it's the best solution

ahh well you are right about the forehead, I have quite the 4 and a half head over here. But this has been the case my whole life, it's also a Vshape (widow's peak) that is clearly visible in my very young photos (9 years old or something like that).

it's not the hairline shape/height that i'm bothered with, it is the density. I will try to go get another consultation, thanks!

make sure its a consultation with a hair loss specialist. Not dermatologist, they don’t know much.

necessary
Oh ok I'll try and find one. I assume that maybe a hair transplant surgeon is what you talk about?

You can find a good dermatologist also, there are a lot who have the necessary equipment to diagnose hairloss sufferers. Or you can also find a good trichologist they are specialized in this and could give you more in dept analysis of the situation, they also have better or maybe the best equipment that is necessary for a proper diagnosis. I would not recommend a transplant surgeon, most of them are very only money oriented and 90% of them would only try to scam you in buying something from them, even if it's a product they get some profit from a local pharmacy or something, so no, don't go to a transplant surgeon, at least not now..
