17 Hop On finasteride Or Go Bald - Pics Included

Hey guys, im in a desperate need of help. Im on the edge of taking finasteride because of how fast my thinning is and im only 17... It started 6 months ago and im already on Rogaine, but sadly its getting worse. I already went through a dermatologist to get finasteride, and now I just gotta go to the pharamacy, but before I do, I would like to hear from you guys

My questions:
a) since most of my hairloss has happened in the last 6 months, will finasteride reverse the damage?

b) will my beard get affected? I already have a decent one but will that be impacted?

c)will i grow?

Finally, if I hop of the pill, can i still have kids?

What age did you start puberty and do you feel like you have fully developed? The fact you have a decent beard already is a good sign you have finished growing but there are many cases where 18 year olds still have a good 4-5 years of sexual development in them, even if they don't get taller. Getting on finasteride now will not impact ur ability to have kids, you just need to be mindful of the potential to stunt further development. I have no idea how big of a deal getting on finasteride at your age is but I am guessing its not ideal.

Hey biddy, thanks for replying. Yeah, I hit puberty early. I remember it was grade 6 or 7 and I am currently in grade 12. I am also 5'10 and my weight is ideal to my height, which is also good. But I am definitely scared of stunting my growth, but I feel like if I wait longer I will have nothing to save,

Definitely start minoxidil. I'm sorry but I can't tell a 17 year old to start finasteride. Do so at your own risk and good luck.

thats awesome that means you are likely fully developed. They say you should be 18 to start finasteride but that doesn't actually mean anything. It is all about when you started puberty and how developed you are. It seems you are in an okay place to start taking finasteride.

I'd wait or at least go to a see a professional. All due respect to others on this site but last thing you want to do is take medical advice from random internet dudes (myself included).

So I went through a derma, family doctor and walk in doctor and they all said you should try 1/4 of the tablet and if you get sides, then quit. I guess I'll give it a shot.

I started finasteride fairly young at 19, I had sides nothing sexual, but would odten get ball ache and extrere tiredness. I found that I would get little side if taking the pill in the morning as part of my morning routine.

Ive now been taking the pill 3 and half years and have close to a full head of hair.
finasteride regrew alot of my hairline
