16 years old in need of help

Hello guys!

I'm 16 years old and I already have quite a bad receding hairline,a week ago I went to the dermatologist and she said that she "doesn't really see me balding" (but she also said that I was the first person at my age to come to her with such a problem,so yeah).

Anyway,she prescribed me Minoxidil 5% and some shampoo(but I'll get one based on Ketoconazole 2% pretty soon).

My question is this: Will minoxidil slow down my baldness or will I be just as bald when I'm 18 and ready to take finasteride? (I'm not reffering to the new hairs that minoxidil might grow but the total baldness process,as finasteride does).

Also,how would you recommend getting on finasteride at 17 years old?

Minoxidil results can be individual. But you do need a dht inhibitor to fight the underlying cause of baldness.
If your too young to start finasteride maybe look into the topical spironolactone/ Revivogen combo.

Well from what I heard Revivogen is snake oil and spironolactone is a bad combination with minoxidil(smell or something?) and it costs quite a bit too?
