First Derms only know so much...most know nothing at all when hairloss is concerned...people on here can vouch for that.

Dont use finateride/propecia this early, wait till your about 19-20 I say. Give your body a chance to develop properly.

I recommend getting a hair test done by a *knowledgable Derm or hairloss specialist*. And examine what Androgenetic Alopecia/male pattern baldness is and check to see if your hair is the same.

The only treatments I would suggest is a topical androgen receptor(AR) blocker, like spironolactone or fluridil. minoxidil is for life...dont touch that yet...you dont need regrowth, just maintenance. So look for a reliable AR blocker and buy some Nizoral shampoo 1% and use it 3 times a week.

And if the Doctor says you cant go bald this early he/she is wrong because you can.

Not just small genitals, less height, less muscle, etc. Someone as young as you should definitely not be taking DHT-inhibitors--stay away from finasteride. Go see a doctor and/or a dermatologist, it's my bet they'll advise you to stay away from finasteride and dutasteride. You only get one major growth spurt in life, and you're in it. For all you know by the time you're 25 they'll have much better solutions to hair loss--maybe before then.

It's funny, the dudes 24 now, and there is still no cure for this bullsh**. Nothing has changed, still propecia.
