Finasteride/Dutasteride for a 15 year old?!? Are you people INSANE?!?

This is not like telling a 15yo that drinking & smoking cigarettes will hurt him even though he sees adults & other kids doing it all the time.

Read about what DHT does in the body during male development. There are specific reasons why DHT#2 is vital in adolescent males and not nearly so vital in adult males.

At 15yo I don't think this is a safe idea at all. Not even in a small dose. The effects really might be serious & permanent at that stage in the game.

dont even contemplate getting on it until youre 18,until then maybe spironolactone would be a better bet? someone wanna chime in on whether he could use spironolactone? it only attacks dht at the follicle right? or is that totally wrong?

When its male pattern baldness at such an early age chances are its going to be super aggressive and nothing will help much. Dont get on meds till at least 18

you can always use rogaine, i dont think you really need to be 18 for that. Rogaine/spironolactone combo people have had goos results with, dont lose hope just yet, your just getting started with this fight.

My son (adopted) is 14 years and 4 months old and was diagnosed with male pattern baldness just after his 13:th birthday. It started with puberty in his case, although he had a high forehead and quite thin hairs all through his childhood. He's a blue eyes and blonde hair.

I've learnt that his biodad also balded during his teens, as did his both granddads. The hair-genes just aren't on his side. Especially over the last few months his hair has been falling off quickly and it's typical male pattern baldness, that is receding hairline especially above his temples, almost a bald spot on the back of his crown, generally very thin hair on his crown, no longer capable to hide the skin of it.

He seems to be ok with it, his mom probably worries more than he does. He's as healthy as ever and a lot into different sports, quite successful being the quick, small kid he always was. With a cap on his head he would pass for 11 or 12. Although I'm 48 I still have very thick hair and a low hairline. If it will be of any help to my kid, I'll shave it of to make him company :)

you can order rogaine from anywhere, just order from drugstore.com you can get either liquid or foam for around $25 for a one month supply. Those are some good supplements your on hopefully they will help get your hair healthy and nizoral is always a good choice.
