hi, im turning 16 in 2 weeks and my hair has been kinda worrying me the past few months
ive had this hairline shape for almost a year now (i think?) but im not sure if its gone worse or anything. ive always had thin / fine hair which i probably inherited from my mom

my dad is 67 and has a norwood 5 i think?
his dad (my grandpa) is 91 and he is barely a norwood 1
my moms side is a bit more tricky, they all have thin hair but i dont think anybody is really bald except for her uncle
my brother (he is 30) does not have any hair loss at all and is blessed with a perfectly straight hairline and thick dense hair

anyway thats the background info, does my hair look critical? i should also mention ive been having alot of dandruff recently which made it a little worse (pics taken today) and my scalp is really itchy too
please help me out!

Hard to tell, do you notice hair fall in the shower or when combing?

Hard to tell my ***. Kid, think Chris Berman, back back back back back back back, gone!

You're in the first or second "back" right now. Nw2, and you're only about sixteen. Get to the dermotologist right away. He'll tell you to monitor it, probably tell you to take minoxidil. He'd say finasteride as well, but at your age, it's not advisable, because dht is important in puberty, and you're not completely through it. After puberty, not so much. Around nineteen-twenty, most derms will be ok with it.

In a word- NO. Do not be in denial, get the referral to a dermatologist. Word to the wise- most doctors know dick about hair loss, and will tell you that it's fine, it may just be maturing, etc. Most don't even know the mechanism of action of how hair loss treatments work. Get the referral (unless of course the off chance the doctor knows something and tells you what I said in the first post).

I dont want to scare you, only tell you the truth even if its hard to accept/bad. Your hair line is receding fast considering you’re still 15. However your hair line might have always been like this, or it could stop and never worsen. I wouldnt risk it if I was in your place. Get on minoxidil for the time being. After 18 get on finasteride. That is if you wish to at least fight for your hair. Anyways, look up both treatment and DO YOUR RESEARCH. Good luck.
