I started taking generic propecia (with my twin brother) 15 days ago and I havent a single side effect so far. :D Hope it lasts. I was a little reluctant starting this little "experiment" considering I am not bald and still have a nice head of hair, but my brother and I both noticed the texture of our hair(dryer and frizzier and less bounce in some places maybe even possible thinning but cant really say for sure) has changed in the last few years and it may be just starting. male pattern baldness runs in the family so we figured these are telltale signs.

I forgot there may have been one side effect not really worth mentioning. But when I first starting taking it (the first few days) my face got a little itchy for a couple of minutes one day but I not sure if it was caused by it or not.

Many have said that the side effects should happen within the 1st month or so if they are going to happen. Although I experienced a major drop in libido and felt very lethargic for 3 weeks or so around a month or so into the propecia. Eventually it went away completely and I feel great now, no side effects at all. So, if you do get side effects, don't freak out. That is good you are starting early if you have it in your family. If you took a poll, I would bet 99% of the people on the board wish they would have started on treatment sooner then they did.

Dude, you got it all wrong? Give your brother sugar pills! Seriously, give him placebo and conduct your own twin test. Then you could post pictures and prove whether there is any validy to the notion that propecia actually makes hair worse! Actually i'm somewhat joking, although conducting your own twin study would be great. Several twin studies have been done and shown like an ~80% success rate.
I say don't worry too much about the first 3 months in. This is when your body is doing the most adjustments, and most should pass. Good luck.

jblig is of course INcorrect.

90+ % of people get zero side effects.

Although I must say it does not make sense for you to be taking an endocrine system modulator if you don't need to.

Sorry, you typed a double negative. Thus the confusion.

Endocrine system = hormones.

After 3 weeks into propecia I noticed an increase in libido, and now into week 8 it's tappering off again. I have noticed that I'm not shedding as much hair, don't know weather this is good or bad, because I've read here that sheeding is a sign that new hairs are in place. HairLossTalk.com enlighten me?
