12 months...so confused

i hope i can get get some experienced advise. on min and finasteride exactly a year. upto 7 months general slow thinning, then massive shed which was noticable....months 9 and 10 all grew back full head of hair...month 11and 12 and its really thinning again on top and scalp can be seen again....can i expect to grow back again..this is really disheartening as months 9 and 10 were brilliant. I would say hair is thinner than a year ago on top....I literally have shed throughout the year apart from months 4 and 5. ...has anyone been through similar and seen better results at months 14 or 16 or 20....Its been a year!!!! my temples are now NW2. Norwood 1 ish a year ago
Im losing 40 ish hairs every morning when i wash....and im sure i will continue to do so....should i stop the meds and go and cry?

so heres a picture of the temples...a few months ago i was a NW1 ....am i doomed!!! also some of the crown...maybe not as bad as i thought but bear in mind my hair round the back and sides is sooo sooo thick it takes my hairdresser 20 mins to thin out to match the top...basicaclly can I maintain at this level after a year on finasteride and min?

...am i using the right amount of regaine on my temples...i spray each side of temple twice, twice a day? experiences comments really appreciated
