Hi everyone,
I’m 26 and I started noticing hair loss at my temples about 2 years ago. I was initially skeptical about using finasteride, but I decided to give it a try. Fortunately, I haven’t experienced any side effects, so I’m comfortable continuing it.
I started taking finasteride (1 mg) on May 25th, 2025, when I was around Norwood 2.
Up until around November 2025, I noticed continued hair loss, and my hairline receded to about Norwood 2.5–3. After that, things seemed to stabilize.
Now, as of March 30th, 2026 (10 months) , I’ve started to notice some regrowth since around February. However, the new hairs are very small (around 1 mm), much thinner than my original hair, and it seems like they haven’t been growing for several months.
Is this a normal phase of regrowth with finasteride? Has anyone experienced something similar where the hairs stay thin and short for a while before improving at this timeline (10 months) ?
