1 yr mark coming up on Propecia....should i start minoxidil?

Hello all, been on propecia since January of 05. I have a dr. appointment set with my derm on Dec 30th. Propecia has maintained the hair that I have and has improved some of the thickness, especially on top and the crown area. However, I don't mean to keep expecting more but should i start using rogaine on the hairline now along with propecia? I am slightly concerned as i do hear rogaine will cause a shed. Do the sheds that rogaine usually cause have cosmetic effect? I am worried as my hair is doing quite well after a yr. on Propecia, but am afraid that rogaine will cause my hairline to thin even more? Thanks for any advice!

did it thicken the miniturising hairs (hairs that were getting shorter and thinner) ??

Unless your hairline (or the rest of your hair) is actually still receding or getting worse while on finasteride, i'd hold off on the Minoxidil.

It sounds like you're a good responder to finasteride, so for the next few years it should keep your hair rock solid.

If you do see things start to slip, then by all means hit the minoxidil to give your regimen an extra boost.

If you really want to add something in for now, i'd drop in some Nizoral shampoo (anti-DHT) and a copper peptide spray. Easy to use and no hassles.
