1.5 year post surgery taking medication but still losing hair

I'm in a strange situation that I'm struggling with.

I suffer from cutis verticus gyrata (cgv) which may have been cause by topical minoxidil. CGV causes thickened folds on the scalp.

I had a hair transplant in July 2024.

Everything went well with the surgery and recovery. The results were decent.

I kept taking my 1mg finasteride and 2.5mg oral minoxidil.

In the past 6 months or so I have noticed a massive increase in hair fall when I am in the shower. It is noticeable.

I also feel like the bald spot on my crown has become noticeable again.

Does anyone have any advice or has anyone gone through something similar?

I'm looking for help or advice.

You better get the cvg under contròl. They say hyaluronidase injections works good on some people with it.

What's your family history? How aggressive has your hair loss been prior to the transplant?

I'd never heard of this treatment. I'll look into it.

My father and brother both have extensive hair loss.

I thought i had it under control with finasteride and minoxidil. It was under control for years before the hair transplant. I don't know what's going wrong.

You might be a rare case where you need to try dutasteride. Maybe increasing OM to 5mg. Are you a big guy?

I'm not a big guy.

I'm 5'11 and 65kg.

I'm doing to use topical minoxidil on the biggest areas of hair loss and try dutasteride twice a week (finasteride 5 days, dutasteride 2 days).

I'll also get my scalp checked by a dermatologist..
