Does anyone have any information on any correlation between 0 or low carb diet and hair loss as related to male pattern baldness ,not shedding. I use this diet intermittently and feel like when I run low carbs I have better hair and overall appearance.

Does removing carbs from diet decrease androgens....since many in this board suffer from ANDROGENic alopecia? I think you'll find your answer if you can answer this question.

Did eskimos have male pattern baldness?

tbf he didn't say it halts/ eliminates male pattern baldness. He said he felt his hair and his body in general felt better on low carb.

I'm pretty sure a lot of insights could be gleaned by studying historical data of male pattern baldness in tribes as they were prior to adopting the western diet of white flour and white sugar. It would take some effort though.

True. I would be curious to see the results on that, but its tough to separate whether your studying that specific population genetics or their actual diets. Its tough to separate environment from genetics since no one knows what genes actually cause male pattern baldness there is no way to separate them currently at least.
With the diet only one way to find out try it, take pictures, and come back here in 5 or 10 years and let us know how it went.

I read a book on nutrition recently, "Good calories, bad calories" or something like that. It's a splendid book by Gary Taubes.

People used to argue that a lot of these tribes had low obesity rates or low heart disease rates due to genetics. However, virtually all of these tribes saw their population develop high rates of metabolic syndrome / syndrome X once they adopted the western diet of white flour and white sugar.

There is much to be said regarding carbs and how they relate to your body and brain function. I'm currently reading a lot of new science and research stating this diet to have a multitude of health benefits including reduced dementia and all neuro degenerative diseases. Besides the obvisious weight gain from carbs there are now some studies showing a strong link to autism. A good book of reference is Grain Brain by dr. David Perlmutter. Carbs cause a lot of inflammation within the body so possibly this imfalMmation can increase the likely hood of the mBp genes to manifest themselves more aggressively. maybe just speeds th process in some way. I don't know the answers although I could imagine it might be a culprit.
