I'm off finasteride for about 3 months now. Things have worsened a lot but I was have severe sides.
I was thinking of getting back to it on 0.25mg. Anyone had success with it?

You had severe sides with minoxidil? or with finasteride? it is a little unclear.
I am currently taking 0.25 mg of finasteride, but I have only been on it for a couple of weeks so I cannot tell you if it's working. But I am quite confident that it will.
This is why I am on 0.25: http://www.hairlosstalk.com/discussions ... hp?t=25032

Thanks for the correction.
I fixed it.

I'll be more than happy to hear your results. Did you have any sides on finasteride?
Are you having any on 0.25?

I've read a lot that people who didn't have sides, then stopped for some reason and resumed treatment had more sides than the first time. But, obviously this is individual, just something I've noticed in reading here.

Actually I just got on finasteride the first time in January. Had really bad nut ache, and freaked out. So I quit almost immidiately. So I can't really say that I ever tried the full dose for real.

But then I started reading all of the studies, and decided to give it another try but at a lower dosage.

As for sides... What I have noticed so far is the occasional testicular ache (but nowhere near as bad as first time around) and some fluctuations in my sex drive. Not as much up as down, but it still works when it has to, and I am staying positive hoping for it to get better as my body adjusts.
So all in all I'm pretty happy with the 0.25.

There is a japanese paper that discssues clinical end points (i.e., hair count/density) for varying dosages of finasteride: 0.2, 0.5, and 1 mg. The best results were with 1 mg. On the otherhand, this board has a few anecdotes of guys using 0.5 mg, and doing quite well on it.
