To clarify my concern is over topical finasteride not being safe because women that are pregnant will inevitably becoming into contact with the residue and chemicals. A man scratches his head and then opens a door for example.
Hello,
Full disclosure I'm bald and not in the hair loss target market anymore but have a concern about a product called Hims.
When I took finasteride back in the 2000s there was a warning that said pregnant women should not come into contact with crushed pills. There was concern over male...
My thoughts.
Finasteride could make some men's physiology more muscular because it increases testosterone.
Finasteride could make some men's physiology more fat because it inhibits dihydrotestosterone (the estrogen blocker).
Inherently - the drug hormonally has feminizing effects - ie...
NW2 is not male pattern baldness IMHO.
No treatments can prevent it. It will happen if you're on finasteride or not and most men are NW2s.
The hair just goes back a little. Very normal.
Hairloss by age is simple. But these stats are assuming not being treated:
20 percent of 20-29 year olds start balding
30 percent of 30-39
40 percent 40-49
50 percent 50-59
So on and so forth.

To be fair - like someone mentioned above it's promoted so heavily because it's the best thing out there. I agree with this. But I want people to think about what people post. Are they even real? The world is generally becoming more difficult to assess the information we come across.
When...
Well and for many the psychological toll of losing your hair has a worse impact on your well being than the drug itself. You have to be willing to accept going bald and having that be a part of your identity. And having a sense of humor about it.
Yes and if the 10 percent that have sides it's not all of them have severe enough sides to want or need to quit. They could simply be mild tolerable sides. I would argue my side effects were tolerable.
10 percent is fair. Finasteride is a very popular and profitable drug for the pharmaceutical industry. If 10 out of a 100 people are going to say anything about the drug it's going to be more likely the people having side effects.
I'm already bald. Unless there's something that literally...
I think so yeah. Minoxidil made me feel worse between the two. And it was kind of messy. And a hassle. It took too much time. Finasteride worked all by itself. It was a vitamin to me, and I was tolerating it while I was on it. I just didn't make the right connections to be aware that it had an...
Yes I took both separately at different times.
I lasted 8 years on finasteride - kept an active sex life and my hair. But I had side effects. I even went to the hospital to have my testicle checked once. I went soft in the middle of sex if it wasn't feeling just right. No morning wood. I was...
