Oral minoxidil for runners/those with low resting heart rate? What was your experience?

As far as I know my blood pressure has always been in the normal range. My heart rate is the only thing that runs low.

Oral minoxidil for runners/those with low resting heart rate? What was your experience?

I’m considering asking my dermatologist for an oral minoxidil prescription. I’m a little hesitant given its reputation, but I’ve been on finasteride for years without issue (totally different medication, I know, but it has its own scary side effects). I’m a long-distance runner and have a very low...

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Update: I’m considering asking my dermatologist for an oral minoxidil prescription. I feel like I’m still receding even with my oral finasteride/topical minoxidil routine. I’m a little worried about the sides, but I’ve had none with finasteride (totally different medication, I know). Has anyone had success with...

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Thanks - fortunately I haven’t had any sides, so I’ll continue using it along with minoxidil and the dermapen. I’m just concerned about my temples. The hairs seem much thinner than the others along my hairline.

Progress update - I’m still a little concerned about the temple area but it doesn’t seem to getting significantly worse. Hoping the dermapen is helping.

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Progress update (just got a haircut so it’s a little shorter than usual). I feel like I’m in ok shape, but I’m still worried about the temples. Still no issues with finasteride.

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

No, nothing noticeable. Not even when I first started. Typically only people with negative reactions to a medication are going to write about their experience online — it’s the vocal minority.

I’m just trying to stay on top of it. finasteride has been a breeze - hope it is the same for you if you decide to go that route later.

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

M32, balding is common on dad’s side of family. I’ve been on finasteride since September 2018 (no noticeable sides) and have been using minoxidil nightly for even longer. I started using a dermapen once a week last year. I’ve been focusing on monitoring my temples but now I’m starting to worry about my...

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

I’m coming up on 5 years on finasteride which is hard to believe + 6 months of the derrapen. Things don’t seem to be worse which is good — I’d be happy to maintain.

I’m trying to be proactive — it can’t hurt.

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Alright, I’ve been using the dermapen weekly for two months now. I can’t notice a huge difference but maybe it takes more time? Interested to hear others’ experienced.

You can see hair where I applied the pen…

Anyway…I bought a Dr. Pen and used it for the first time today. I used the 16-needle cartridge, 1.5MM at full speed. Does it look like I went too hard or not hard enough. I could only do 2 minutes on each temple…it was a little more painful than I was anticipating.
