From what I've read on the internet a Telogen hair "USUALLY" falls when it is pushed out by a new hair. I say usually because that is not always the case, especially if there is an underlying hairloss condition.

It sounds like you may be experiencing a bout of Teleogen Effluvium. That's when a "shock" to the body causes an increase in shedding. You could experience 2, 3 or even 4 times as much shedding as you normally do. Try to think back 2-3 months...
