Hi all. Some context. I started finasteride around May of 2016, having realised I was balding in late 2015. My initial results were very good, and my hairline thickened up substantially on finasteride. This is my first 8 months https://imgur.com/a/dZuNr . (I know the photo qual changes but...
Hi all, I posted similar in r/tressless but thought I'd cross post here as I've had some well reasoned responses in the past. Some context. I started finasteride around May of 2016, having realised I was balding in late 2015. My initial results were very good, and my hairline thickened up substantially...
God if your hair is anything like mine, bedhead is the absolute worst. Fringe falls limp and lifeless and temples are exposed awkwardly. Can't sort it out without shampoo. You might be onto something though re conditioner. I always associated that soft feeling with good hair but the thinner it...
Do you think it makes much of a difference? I've shampoo'd and conditioned every day since before I can remember. 26 now. I just find my hair looks absolutely terrible on the second day, always have. No shine and it feels greasy. Am i f*****g up?
Also doubt you remember House but you once commented on a post of mine regarding kinking hair due to minoxidil. All my hairline hairs were wiry and coarse and kinking erratically after some time on min liquid. Changed to the foam and it's really helped, the kinked hair has disappeared almost...
Cheers guys, needed a bit of perspective to get my head out of the rut im in today. Don't mind too much where the hairline is, always been high so it doesnt really bother me too much, its the thinning at the front that proves seriously problematic. Cant style anymore, just kinda sweep it into a...
Hey guys, 26M here. Here's my current hair https://imgur.com/a/EVFwSv6. About the same as it was when I was 23 and started finasteride although hairline mightve receded and thinned a bit. Two questions.
1. What norwood do you think this is? I'm taking a stab at 2.5. Always had a high hairline but its...
Also out of curiosity anyone go an idea what norwood I am? I'll go for 2.5. Hair behind the hairline is still very thick and hair at the back and sides is dense as f*** but as the hairline thins it becomes far more difficult to style. Would consider a transplant, have the money, but probably not...
Hey if anyone returns to this thread and is still the least bit curious this is my hair now. https://imgur.com/a/EVFwSv6 Not the best photos. However, the kinking has stopped for the most part since moving to foam, still the odd hair thats all twirled up but most are now gone. Density in that...
yo. OP here. Hair is marginally worse i'd say. the kinking in the front is nightmarish and im not really sure what to do with it. I was told by my derma to stay on for another 6 months, moving to min foam and if nothing happens to quit the min. frankly i hate the fact I ever started min, density...
Yeah I shed badly mate. Thought it was a good sign at first but didn't end up being so. Wish I'd never started but that's just me, have seen it work wonders for others.
Hey mate yeah the coarseness isn't so much the issue for me, its just the way it grows out. It's got strange kinks in it and grows in a way totally different to my regular hair so I have to keep It short. It also seems to grow significantly slower. Will try the dry conditioner though, thanks...
Ok so I've done a little research and it seems that what I have is called whisker hair, resulting from a condition called APKH (acquired progressive kinking of the hair). The symptoms directly match what I have been struggling with although I haven't found anyone who has had it induced by minoxidil...
