What needle length would help with the fue scars? Thanks for the help! Is 1.5mm too much for the sides of the head?

Need help guys. Started dermarolling 5 days ago and the scalp is still a bit red. Is this normal? Used 1.5mm needle and applied minoxidil (waited 24hrs after microneedling) for the first time also. How do i know if the scalp is infected? Or is the redness due to minoxidil?
