    Confusing predicament

So, I got a prescription for finasteride as soon as I want to use it but I got my DHT blood test results back as well and it seems my levels are really low, below average. How dangerous would it be to get on finasteride when DHT levels are already low.

Any realistic hopes of a cure in next few years?

The timing in your case was pretty rough. It's a shame that finasteride didn't come out sooner in your case since you don't experience side effects, it sucks to think you could have saved some hair and bought some time. I'm glad that some of the experienced users like you are here to give us the truth...

    cb 03 01

Congrats man, you're lucky you respond to CB and propecia well. I've been looking into getting on propecia but my hormones are kind of out of balance as it is and I don't wanna risk anything with propecia until I take blood tests and talk to a specialist. Worst case I'm hoping I can get on...

Any realistic hopes of a cure in next few years?

If you could go back when you first started balding or noticed it and finasteride was available would you have taken it? That's crazy to think balding has caused your life to change so much and you respond well to finasteride or at least without side effects so you wouldn't have had any problems. That's how I...

If you respond to finasteride then theoretically you should respond to CB. I think it's a safer method of halting the loss so the sooner it comes out the better. I just wish there were more people on CB who could post their results.

What kind of reasoning is that? Advances in science and technology are logarithmic so they only get faster with time.

    Companies who are on it

I read on another forum a user that seemed pretty knowledgeable said an ideal situation would be using asc-j9 because it degrades the AR and a blocker like cb-03-01 to reduce binding then it could be a very good preventative regimen.

    My story (with pics)

That's a long time to be defying destiny. Really good stuff. That's pretty amazing you have been on finasteride for 13 years since I heard it stops working eventually. Is there any anecdotal evidence of how long, on average, it lasts for guys?

    Propecia decreases bioavailable testosterone!

I'm 21 years old and my doctor says I have hypogonadism. Does this mean I can't or shouldn't take propecia. If body hair is any indication then I probably have a very high DHT level because I got a lot of body hair. Is it possible I'm in a low T/high DHT situation and is there any way to treat that.

Would be nice if we could know how effective possibly and how far these measures are in the trial process. I think preventative treatments are just as important as the work Replicel and Histogen are doing so anything that can take over propecias role more safely/effectively is a good thing.

    Hair Multiplication Update:Histogen!

They did say that they are striving to make it competitive with current transplant prices. In some ways I could see it being less expensive and in other ways I could see it being more expensive. Hard to say. While it will take a number of years to come out the companies are also in a race to see...

    Hair Multiplication Update:Histogen!

I think your timeline is pretty realistic but it may be available in Asia or some places like that a couple years earlier. Other than that it is a long wait for some of the guys who are already bald and not getting any younger. But, just knowing a solution is available could be a big deal and...

    Hair Multiplication Update:Histogen!

I don't know why people take sides on something that is so unknown. It seems like the most feared word on this forum is "maybe". Whenever research is being put into something that may or may not cure hair loss people would always take a side based on their own personality. So optimists say oh...

    Replicel

I'd say it's 50/50. The science they are working with isn't a bunch of hypothetical maybe's. Regenerative medicine has proven itself and is definitely the future but it's more an issue of being able to harness it properly in the present. Right now Replicel seems to be going around acting pretty...

how to stop pining for the olden days?

I haven't gone bald yet so I won't pretend to know what you guys are going through but I remember hearing about how sometimes people who lose limbs have dreams where they still have what they lost and then they wake up. I can't imagine what it's like to have a dream where you have hair to wake...
