I will go back and check. I recorded all details of my regimen. From memory though, I think I started at 25 mg 2-OH-F per topical application and then increased to 50 mg per application. Each application volume was between 1.5 and 2.0 mL in Rogaine solution.
I just wanted to confirm that Estrogel (Divigel), when applied directly to scalp, does saturate scalp tissue with estradiol. This seems to be true since I saw a modest rise in systemic estradiol with the only entry point being the scalp.
Regarding the high doses of estradiol you mentioned...
FYI, one packet of Divigel (0.75 mg estrogel) applied to only scalp 1 hour before bloodwork gave me an estradiol blood level of 73 pg/mL. Normally estradiol is 30-35 pg/mL.
Feminization has not been a problem for me while using estradiol topically on scalp. If you have normal T levels, estro will not have a dramatic anti masculinization effect. My experience after ~ 3 years.
5 mg may be okay for you. Skin doesn't end with the face. Back of hands and inner elbows seem to be affected in an extreme manner. Over the last three years, I am only aware of a few who can handle high doses 5 mg or greater) for long periods of time: @AnxiousAndy, @Derelict , @JaneyElizabeth ...
Seriously, use less and have more patience and you may be rewarded. Every time I have been greedy with oral minoxidil I have been forced to quit due to what it does to my skin. This time I will keep the dose between 1.25 and 2.5 for 6-9 months. It's been 3 months and I'm still okay in terms of...
Currently using Rx tabs that I split. I have previously used volumetric dosing of Rogaine, which was the first time I saw regrowth (Jan-Mar 2019). There is nothing wrong with using the topical liquid orally as long as you know how to measure properly.
3 months at 5 -7.5 mg, two different times, then 3 months at 2.5 mg with spironolactone, which also disrupts collagen synthesis. Now 2.5 months with 1.25 mg.
I suspect we'd have a lot more success stories with oral min if people used 1.25-2.5 mg oral min and waited longer for results. 5 mg and above has caused myself, and many others, side effects that result in discontinuation.
I'm using 1.25 mg/day after trying higher doses that had unacceptable...
I had a similar experience, x 2. Two years ago I used RU for 4 weeks and loss continued to accelerate.
A few months ago I went in at double the dose...kept going even though shedding became more extreme. After a few days of losing small clumps of hair, which I've never experienced in my life, I...
achieving high systemic exposure with estrogel is not difficult and doesn't even require application below the belt. I've proven this by putting on legs and getting bloodwork done an hour later. 1.5 mg estrogen (estrogel) an hour before blood draw put my E in the range of a menstruating woman...
In my 2+ years experimenting with bi-estro, estrogel (e2), and estriol, I can say that high systemic levels equate to thin and crepey where it was already thin: inner elbows and back of hands. Doesn't matter if it's e2 or e3. I've been using estro more locally the last few months and take...
You certainly are not drinking the Koolaid, that estrogen improves skin; overly pliable skin is not a good look!
The consensus here is that reduction in lines and wrinkles is from ramped up collagen production but I haven't really noticed that.
