    Hypo-allergenic tape recommendation (UK)

Hi: I've developed an allergic reaction to mainstream wig tape. I'm looking for a hypo-allergenic tape but I want something that is for a week only as I want a less strong bond until I'm sure that my scalp is happy with it. Can anyone recommend a hypo-allergenic tape (preferably in contour...

What's enough time for a patch test? Just testing Max Sport Scalp Protector...

I'm interested in your comment that skin irritation after a few days may be contact dermatitis and not necessarily an allergic reaction. I've been wearing a system with tape for around a year. Just recently my scalp has become sore and red. Not unbearable to wear, but sore and with the odd...

Basic French lace vs Lace Hair System With Thin Skin Perimeter and Lace Front

Hi, I've been using tape for a year now and am beginning to get an allergic reaction to it. I thought I'd try scap protector and hypoallergenic tape and see if that works. I assume you have tried those and it didn;t work for you (?) I have never tried glue. But am curious that you get an...

What To Do With License, Id Or Passport Photos?

Interested to know how you got on? I live in the UK. When I had my first hair system last year I changed my passport photo. I don't think this is necessary, but I wanted to save any embarrassing questions.

Using Scalp Protector and Just-Rite Positioning Spray Together

Hi, I've been wearing systems for a year now and want to continue. I mostly use a salon, but have re-installed myself a couple of times. I'm not very good at positioning so I've just purchased some Just-Rite Spray. However, I've recently had some bleeding and soreness on my scalp. My doctor has...

Should I use a hairdryer on a mixed synthetic with bio hair system?

Thanks...I can't make up my mind about the synthetic hair. I think under some types of lighting it does look less natural than bio hair. On the other hand, it really keeps its structure without a lot of messing about. I have rather got used to it. Frankly, I'm in my 60s and I'm not that bothered...

Should I use a hairdryer on a mixed synthetic with bio hair system?

Hi, several months ago I had a hair system fitted by a salon. At some point I'd like to learn how to do my own maintenance, but am happy to return ever few weeks at moment for a re-install. The system is a mixture of bio and synthetic hair (I was told that grey is very hard to source for bio...

Storing back-up hair systems: can you just leave them in a box?

I should have mentioned that my system is a mixture of bio and synthetic. Not sure if that makes a difference in terms of whether or not to spray with leave in conditioner. I assume not..i.e. it should still be stored "dry", as it were.

Storing back-up hair systems: can you just leave them in a box?

Hi, I've had a hair system for three months now and am thinking of getting a second one and then using the one I have now as backup in case something goes wrong. What I'm not sure about is: can I just wash the "old" (i.e. current) system, spray it with leave-in conditioner and leave it in a box...

Temporary repairs to "hair system" by inserting ghost bond under tape.

Again, that's extremely helpful. Many thanks. Early days for me, but I'm pleased that my scalp tolerates the tape/ glues and it doesn't really feel as if I have anything on my head.I think this is going to be my new life until one day (we can but hope) there is a real cellular cure which is not...

Temporary repairs to "hair system" by inserting ghost bond under tape.

Thanks for replying. Very helfpul. And yes, I want to learn how to do my own maintenance: not least so I don't have to return to the clinic too often (I'd rather not try and trim what's left of my hair so I will still want to go back occasionally). My plan is to have one more re-install at the...
