    Topical flutamide don't work

That link don't say what you think it says.

Quercetin, melatonin, hyaluronic acid or ginkgo biloba

Here's a link to a PDF copy of the study re finasteride and quercetin: http://joe.endocrinology-journals.org/cgi/reprint/181/3/493.pdf

    peppermint oil wow!

Good luck man. From everything I've read, peppermint oil sounds like a reasonable addition. It's in a TON of shampoos and hair care lotions, and there are apparently some bulletin boards (the only ones I've found so far are for African American women) where they're using it to regrow hair...

Quercetin, melatonin, hyaluronic acid or ginkgo biloba

JLL - are you aware of the study that found quercetin INCREASED DHT levels? It did so quite dramatically, and even simultaneous administration of finasteride could not counteract entirely the quercetin-induced increase of DHT. That said, the same study found that simultaneous administration of...

    Genhair flutamide is garbage

Good luck, sounds like a solid topical regime. I tried topical spironolactone once but never gave it a good faith effort. Adding it on top of the old, liquid 5% minoxidil was a greasy, smelly nightmare. So long as the minoxidil dries quickly, I'd think spironolactone would be easier to apply.

    Toco-Sorb & Toco-8 vs. Tocotrienols from Food

I'm withholding judgment. Vitamin E (depending on the form) has been shown in studies to downregulate expression of androgen receptors. If Toco-8/Toco-Sorb have the right form of Vitamin E, it's possible they could exert some beneficial effect on hair loss. ***I don't remember off-hand if the...

I am going to try herbal treatments

That's naive. Not only have lavender oil and tea tree oil been shown in vitro to have strong AA effects (approximating flutamide, one of the strongest AAs known to man), they're potent enough in vivo to cause gynecomastia in children. Applying a carrier oil like grapeseed, even without the...

I am going to try herbal treatments

Lavender and tea tree oil are actually supposed to be pretty potent. In the study posted in the New England Journal of Medicine, the authors found that the in vitro antiandrogenic effects of lavender and tea tree were almost as strong as flutamide. (Their potent in vivo effect is suggested by...

    Best Antiandrogen

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. BTW, do you know if the subjects in this study were taking anything else (e.g., finasteride) to treat hair loss? I assume the subjects were suffering from Androgenetic Alopecia. If they were, it's strange that the untreated group saw a more or less consistent...

    Toco-Sorb & Toco-8 vs. Tocotrienols from Food

Here's an excerpt from the 7,211,274. patent: "At the end of the supplementation period, all volunteers in the tocotrienol formulation group had positive results, recording an increase in the number of hairs in the evaluation area. Seven volunteers (64%) showed regrowth of between 10 35%while 3...

I am going to try herbal treatments

Good luck with your regimen. From what I've read, it seems like the addition of some essential oils (lavender, tea tree oil, rosemary, cedarwood, etc.) is a totally rational way to treat Androgenetic Alopecia. It probably can't hurt, at least. (I'm experimenting with my own EO blend every other night, atm, trying...

    Best Antiandrogen

Bryan, if you're following this thread, can you chime in on this? Is it true that, after quitting minoxidil, you can lose MORE hair than you would have lost over the same period of time if you had never used it? In other words, can discontinuation of minoxidil cause greater than 'normal' hair...

    Meth Grows Hair

Topical meth dissolved in a DMSO vehicle? Debates about source reliability and storage? Tempting IMO. Those pictures are striking. And like others, I've noticed that most middle-aged and older homeless guys have terrific hair. When I was in grad school in Palo Alto, there was an area north of...

    Finasteride/Dutasteride not working for you?

I didn't realize that finasteride increases expression of AR. Do you think wild-type AR downregulating agents (methylselenocysteine & soy, etc.) would be helpful? It's a frustrating area of research for professionals and non-professionals alike, I'd imagine. I recently read a study that found...

    Genhair flutamide is garbage

Rework, When you stopped using Sinere's Flutagel and started using Genhair's flutamide (in Minoxidil GAFF), did you continue using Sinere's Nanominox FMS, or did the Minoxidil GAFF become your only topical? Sinere's Nanominox has a few interesting ingredients -- adenosine, sophora flavescens...
