Thanks man. I'm not sure why Omega2327 had to respond to me the way he did, but anyway, I wish all of you luck with using zix. I've no doubt that zix does help the hair, and there was that study done that showed topical zinc to be beneficial. Anyway, I think I'm gonna move on now from visiting...
With that last post I had finished what I was going to say on the matter. I was just replying to what Pigeon had said. I wasn't intending to offend anyone, and sorry if I did.
I think I might take a break from these forums from now on.
Those who find that finasteride gives them sides can stop using it. But for the majority of guys such as myself, finasteride/dutasteride are well tolerated and do not cause side-effects.
Interesting study. Indeed it does provide some evidence in favour of topical zinc.
I agree. I am skeptical of whether this combination of zinc and a vitamin is going to have much of an effect on genetic hair loss to be honest. To test the efficacy of zix reliably, we would need to have a controlled, double-blind study. A few people on here seem to have reported some success...
Its better just to use dutasteride on its own. Taking finasteride alongside it won't give you any better results than just using dutasteride alone. We also don't know how finasteride and dutasteride could interact with one another if taken together.
There isn't really any alternative to minoxidil. Minoxidil is a unique treatment and nothing else has been found to match its growth stimulating properties. Hairs grown from minoxidil are also entirely dependent on the continued use of the minoxidil (these hairs cannot be maintained by stopping...
Yes, finasteride and dutasteride do cause side-effects in a minority of guys who use them. But the majority of us don't get sides. I'm using dutasteride and I don't have sides. If you want to keep your hair, you've got to use these drugs. There isn't any other choice if you want to keep your hair. Using unproven...
I've been assuming that this was being used as an oral medication. I see now that Telogen mentioned he uses it topically, not orally. I guess that makes it relatively safe, assuming it does not have a high systemic absorption rate.
I was on 2.5mg to start with. Then lowered it to just 1.25mg. The puffy eyes and dark circles didn't go away, so I finally stopped using it after a couple of months.
I've read a little about zix, and I'd have to say I am skeptical of how well it really works. I somehow doubt it would do much for someone who has an aggressive case of male pattern baldness.
Its not something I'd be willing to gamble on myself. I prefer to stick to proven medical male pattern baldness treatments. But good luck...
