Derm doesn't know what she is talking about. Get a new doctor. Once you start minoxidil you have to continue using it so long as you want to benefit from it. Stop and all gains/maintenance/deceleration of male pattern baldness stops as well.

Doesn't appear to be baldness, but you should keep an eye on it. If the corners of the hairline are thinning or if you shed lots of short hairs you should get on a treatment.
