Whatevr's Success Story - With Timeline

I think the color of hair is interesting. I was blond to the point of it being almost white as a young child. Overtime my hair gradually turned darker (brownish/blond). It wasn't until I started losing hair that it became much darker brown.

The new 1mg Generic Propecia does not work?

I was switched over to the Dr. Reddys version from Walgreens several months ago. Since they were still charging me $200+ for a 90 day supply, I swiched to Costco Pharmacy, which uses Cambers at a cost of only $30 something every 90 days. In my opinion the Cambers product has improved my...

200mg Oral Spironolactone, Dutasteride, Propecia, Nizoral, Rogaine For Months

Good job in willing to experiment and push the envelope. I would keep an eye on your overall health with oral spironolactone. I already know I have high Test levels, but unlike others here I don't think I would ever cross into oral spironolactone. If that was my only option I would rather lose my hair at that...

Surgery + Medication & Major Shed

I recently had nose surgery that required me to be on methylprednisolone (corticosteroid) for 7 days. After the fact I have been shedding like crazy despite continuing to take Finasteride and applying Minoxidil as usual. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am assuming the...

    Cardio and Hair Loss

I take finasteride before I lift, and lately I have been doing cardio immediately after. I have managed to keep my hair line and vertex for almost 10 years now (now 30), but have lost some density to the point where it looks kind of thin if I buzz it. Quite frankly I think I could have held on...

    New Dermaroller Study; Thoughts, comments?

If I don't notice a difference then I will give it a try. My hair loss is not bad enough to the point of me rushing to try the 1.5 mm.

    New Dermaroller Study; Thoughts, comments?

I've been more of a lurker on these forums than anything else, but I'm going to give this a try and see what happens. I am a NW2 with diffuse loss and fine hair that looks kind of bad when wet, but largely fine when dry to the point where some people might call me crazy if I said I was balding...

    helpp, is my hairline receeding?

Looks like recession to me. I have the same type of situation that got worse over time. One corner also receded faster than the other.

Topical Liquid Vitamin D3, Keratin and ketoconazole ( The natural big 3 )

I'm going to try this as well. Already on finasteride and minoxidil. My main issue is diffuse thinning, so with luck maybe there will be a little thickening. My experience over the years has been that I greatly slowed the rate of loss, but I never regrew.

    Propecia decreases bioavailable testosterone!

I've had my testosterone checked recently and free testosterone was higher than normal. Any drug that changes hormones may cause an issue with the individual. The hormonal balance of many people ranges widely and lifestyle is probably a big part of it as well. I know some people here have...

My Propecia plunge 2morrow first a few questions!!!!!

I don't understand all the fears related to finasteride. In all honesty, I think doctors that fear it should perform a blood test for Testosterone, Free Testosterone, DHT, Estradiol, Cortisol, and Thyroid hormones. Go on finasteride for a month and then perform another test. Some people may...

Can minoxidil accelerate the hairloss ?

I agree with captain combover. I would probably go back on propecia at .25 to .5 mg a day. Just use a pill cutter that you can get from just about any pharmacy local or online. It sounds like you respond well to the drug, or just have less 5-AR than most people to begin with. I would take it...

    Minixidol working for me?

Results vary. I think most agree that finasteride is the most effective solution for men because DHT is the prime antagonist for androgenic alopecia. It is probably the most effective for stopping/slowing hair loss, and it gives a small shot at thickening and regrowth. I have seen some...

    Diet and hair loss?

Eat a balanced diet. Anything that spikes insulin is probably not good for hair. Higher fat and protein diets probably increase androgens, but as a male I don't understand why people go overboard in fearing their body's natural creation of hormones. Get a balance of Omega 3, 6, and 9, which...

Heath Ledger a perfect role model for hair loss?

Quoted for truth. I would put myself at a Norwood 2 if people are going to say Heath Ledger is a Norwood 3. I started buzzing my hair down to a 1/4 inch over the summer, and I may just stick with it. It hasn't affected my image among women all that much, and I still get enough attention. I am still...
