I have been on 0.5mg dutasteride for 10 months and the front inch has taken a hit, it would seem I've lost any finasteride gains I made. Reduced the dose to 0.5mg everyother day a month ago and it's slightly better. Am considering dropping dutasteride and getting back on finasteride, whilst I had patchy areas...

Hi. Just curious of opinions. I have been on dutasteride (avodart?) for 9 months and the first inch or 2 of my hairline has thinned pretty rapidly over the last 5 months or so. Was on finasteride before and whilst there was shedding its never been this thin. My dht blood levels are 0.170 mnol/l...

It'sjustSimon, are you still on avodart? If not did hair grow back after use etc?

Nope no side effects, armpit hair loss, that's it really

My dht levels are the lowest they've ever been. Was tested at 0.017nmol which is like 5 ngdl very low, lower than some females apparently. Lowest I got it down on finasteride was 0.025. So it is working just seems to be worse off for some reason.

Thanks. I forgot to mention I tried durasteride around two years ago and the same thinning of hairline happened so I quite and got back on finasteride, it all grew back. I just kept shedding and getting terrible scalp pain etc on the finasteride so had enough and thought I'd try avodart again...
