Your body may not become resistant to propecia. I have been on propecia for 6 years, and as far as I can tell, have maintained what I started with. Not saying eventually my hair won't decline further, but in 6 years, so far so good. I was 23 when I started, and am 29 now.

I think I read on Dr Lee's website to lay off the Propecia for 2 weeks before trying to have procreative sex. His site is minoxidil.com. Maybe ask a doctor or pharmacist about this as well.

8 hours Dr. Lee on his website says to leave 8 hours between applications. Not sure if an hour here or there makes a difference. If you buy minoxidil from Lee, you could do an online consultation with him and ask him that question.
