Ok, I'm sure this question is a mainstay for the forum, but I'm new and this is my first post - so please excuse me if this has been aswered over and over again!

Im 23 years old - from the UK. I have (in the last year or so) lost a decent amount of hair from my temples and verticies, (though Im sure I was losing hair slowly for a few years before that! I tried revivogen - with poor results or none at all really - though I still use the shampoos because, well ... it seems a waste not to.

About 3 months ago I began on propecia, and am still waiting to see the results; on certain days I think its working on others I think its not. I thought a few months ago that my crown MIGHT be thinning (paranoia perhaps), and I certainly was losing a fair amount of hair when I washed in (normally 20 or so folicles stuck to my hand) which SEEMS to have slowed (again - dont want to be overly optimistic).

I went to see Dr Rogers here and he put me on finasteride - and told me it was too soon to think about a hair transplant - told me come back in a year after having used the propecia for that period.

My question is - being so young - would it really be idiotic to have a small number of FUE grafts into my temples and verticies given the fact that my loss doesnt seem overly rapid - and that if I really do continue to get worse - I could simply have another hair transplant done, (perhaps a couple of them) until HM is viable? I know it seems like counting your chickens ... but would you really advise against it? My hair loss is really starting to affect my life, and mood quite seriously.

Many thanks guys! I appreciate the help.

If you have slow hairloss that has been on going then I say go for the hair transplant. I've been losing my hair since I was 14, I'm saving to go have Dr. Armani fix my hairline.

But if you are just starting to lose your hair, I'd at least get it it under control and slow it down enough so that you can still look good until you are 30. You'll prolly feel a lot worse in the long run if you can't first come to terms with your hairloss and do something rash.

Revivogen didn't do sh*t for me. I'm waiting for my propecia to come in from bangkok. Gonna take 0.33mg/day and see if that stops hairloss in its tracks.
If I get sides I will get off of it and probably still get the hair transplant since my hairloss has progressed slowly.
