I've been away from the board for a while and was wondering what the current thoguhts are regarding Xandrox from minoxidil.com?

I bought a 3 bottle supply of the Xandrox "day" solution. It doesnt have retin-a or betamethasone(both of which arent really neccessary even according to Dr. Lee)

I wanted to try it because of the purported "anti-DHT" properties of Azelaic Acid. I can say all of Dr. Lee's products are well made and arrive speedily. His Xandrox dries way faster than generic 5% minoxidil and leaves my hair with nice body. However, I can buy practically 6 bottles of Costco 5% minoxidil for the price of 1 Xandrox!! Only one study has suggested Azelaic Acid is a DHT inhibitor and it was in a test tube using other chemicals such as zinc. There have been subsequent in vivo studies(on real skin) that have questioned Azelaic's effectiveness.

Personally, I dont think Xandrox is worth the money but it may be better, who knows for sure? I am currently going off finasteride for the time being and plan to use Dr. Lee's topical spironolactone with minoxidil and nizoral for awhile.

Agreed, shipping is very prompt, Dr. Lee is very helpfull and knowledgable. The Xandrox is much more pleasant to use than other types of minoxidil I have used in the past. But it is extremely expensive and therefore only worthwhile if the Azelaic Acid ingredient is worthwhile.

I decided to go with Xandox because of the Azelaic Acid and because I was hoping to get off finasteride and stick with topicals, hoping that Azelaic Acid and spironolactone would cover for the lack of oral finasteride. But my hair was falling out worse than I thought so stopping finasteride is not an option at this point.

If you are going to use finasteride, and most people probably should to get best results, then I think the premium paid for Xandrox is not worth it.

Note that Dr. Lee also sells a variety of Xandrox and other minoxidil preparations with or without Retin-A, betamethasone, varying amounts of PPG, etc. So I guess some people chose his products if they have PPG alergies or scalp problems with minoxidil.

been using it for 5 months, can't complain. I use it for styling too. Apply a little to your hair, let it dry, then brush it, and you'l have thicker hair instantly.
