I used Propecia for 3 months a while ago, but my nipples got really big and puffy, so I had to stop :( . I have now started again with 0,25mg a day.

I believe Saw Palmetto did help me a little when I used it, so I am thinking about starting it again - do you guys think it would be ok to combine this with Propecia?

I've wondered about this too. While there's no evidence at all that Saw Palmetto prevents hair loss or reduces DHT in the blood, it does *apparently* reduce the amount of DHT that tissues (at least in the prostate) absorb. At least that's the working theory.

Thing is, no one seems to be sure exactly what SP does, or how it does it, only that it does *something* to help with enlarged prostate symptoms. Whatever that is, it doesn't work like finasteride. It does Something Else.

My fear is that whatever it does may somehow compete with finasteride, reducing it's effectiveness. And since we know Propecia (usually) works, and SP has no evidence at all... I can't bring myself to risk it.

Saw Palmetto is unlikely to do anything at all no matter what its taken with.
Do you realise that if you get results with 0.25mg of Propecia then your chance of getting sides will be the same as if you were taking 1mg of Propecia?
