I've been going through a horrible shed for the past 6 weeks, and it got me freaked to the point where I was just going to give up and go bald gracefully.

But I'm glad I didn't.

I've been on Propecia and minoxidil since May (just added Tricomin and spironolactone for the hairline) and I had a lot of fuzzy growth in the receded spots within two months. Then all that fell out during the shed, and I panicked.

But yesterday morning, I was pulling back my frontal hairline to apply Xandrox in my receding spots -- and I noticed very tiny brown hairs starting to come through where once there was fuzz!

Then I checked my temples -- same thing!

Now, I'm talking tiny colored hairs here -- barely visible unless you look real close -- but they're definitely breaking through. They may not turn thick this cycle, but it could well be the start.

My crown and vertex still look rather thin under harsh light, but they responded well before the shed, so I'm hoping they fill in as well over the next 6-12 months.

I took pics mid October, and I made the promise to myself I wouldn't take any more until January, so I'll stick to that.

I never thought a few dozen tiny little hairs would give me so much hope and joy.

Same here. I was bald for 20 years, finasteride can work wonders, but I use other, hopefully, supporting therapies. eg. Emu Oil, fenugreek sprouts (which are well known to give horses shiny coats) Have you read about the laser comb? I think the trick is to improve the microcapilliary function in the scalp, get the oxygen pumping. I don't know if finasteride would work just as well by itself, or if only a small percentage of us are good responders, but I look forward to seeing your photos when you are ready.
Well done.

I've drawn a bit of criticism for the amount of products I use in my first year, but there's a NW5 history in my family, so I couldn't leave it to chance.

If I was positive I could skate by on just the Big 3, I would do it -- but I'm not that optimistic.

I introduced spironolactone, Folligen and Xandrox15 all for my hairline and temples.

Other than that, it's just regular Kirkland's minoxidil, Propecia and T-Gel/Nizoral for the rest.

If I were you, I would get off Fenugreek right now. It is nothing more than snake oil my friend.
