Will finasteride keep gains made by minoxidil after cessation of minoxidil?

Hi guys,
I'm a 25 year old male who's been on finasteride for about 8 months with slight improvement to my slightly thinning temples. Although I have had no loss, I would love to thicken up my hair and am considering minoxidil in addition to the finasteride. My question today is - if I use minoxidil for a while, until I experience satisfactory gains, can I then discontinue and let finasteride keep hold of the new hair? Does it work like this?

Cheers :)

No. Once you stop the minoxidil you will shed in 6 months to the point below of baseline only to recover months later.
You need to apply minoxidil to keep the results.

Not really. It's theoretically possible, however, from every example we've ever seen on here any gains made by minoxidil are sustained only through minoxidil.
